A tip I got from Bob Bailey to muffle a clicker is to put layers of cloth
tape (first aid tape, for instance) on the dimple of the metal tongue of a
clicker. I have a special clicker that I modified to show clients--it has
eight layers of tape and it makes a very muffled, dull, inoffensive to dogs
"dit-duh" sound (as opposed to "click-ick").
